Bishops Luncheon
The 2008 annual Lutheran Advocacy Ministry - New Mexico Legislative Luncheon was held on Tuesday, February 5 at La Fonda Hotel in Santa Fe. Bishop Allan Bjornberg of the Rocky Mountain Synod, ELCA again hosted this event at which legislators and executive branch policy makers are recognized as Lutheran advocates join advocates from a number of denominations to thank legislators for their public service. Rep. Lucky Varela was recognized as Legislature of the Year. Gov. Bill Richardson attended this year's luncheon and addressed the over 100 people that attended. A briefing on Lutheran Advocacy Ministry-NM issues was held in the morning prior to the luncheon.
