The 2009 annual Lutheran Advocacy Ministry - New Mexico Legislative Luncheon was held on February 4 at La Fonda Hotel in Santa Fe. Bishop Allan Bjornberg of the Rocky Mountain Synod, ELCA again hosted this event at which legislators and executive branch policy makers are recognized as Lutheran advocates join advocates from a number of denominations and other faiths to thank legislators for their public service. We celebrated the 25th anniversary of advocacy ministry in New Mexico and Rep. Rhonda King, Rep. Ed Sandoval and Sen. Linda Lopez were recognized as Legislators of the Year. A briefing on Lutheran Advocacy Ministry-NM issues was held in the morning prior to the luncheon.
